What this policy covers
This policy applies to the VEU desktop app for Windows and Linux and to this website. It describes how information is handled when you use either of them.
What VEU doesn’t store
VEU doesn’t save anything of yours on its servers. That includes:
- The messages you send and receive
- Your voice and video calls
- Photos and other media you share
- What you watch together, and when
Conversations travel directly between the devices taking part in them, client to client, and are end-to-end encrypted, so only the people in a conversation can read them.
Information needed to connect
To open a direct connection between two devices, they need to exchange technical details, such as network addresses. VEU uses this information only to connect you and doesn’t keep it as a record of who you talk to or when.
Information on your device
Because nothing is stored on a server, your conversations live only on the devices that take part in them. Disappearing messages and time-limited photos are removed from the app when their timer runs out.
Uninstalling the app or losing a device can remove that content permanently, and VEU can’t restore it.
Screenshot and recording protection
On Windows and Linux, VEU blocks screenshots, screen recordings, and screen streaming of your conversations, including recording tools from NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel. No app can stop someone from photographing or recording a screen with another device, so share sensitive moments with people you trust.
Watching together
Watch together works with streaming services such as Netflix, Prime Video, Crunchyroll, Disney+, YouTube, and Twitch. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. VEU is not affiliated with them.
This website
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers, and it doesn’t ask for your email address. Fonts and images are served from this site, so visiting it doesn’t contact third parties such as Google Fonts.
Like any website, the servers that deliver it may record basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of a request, to keep the site available and secure.
Security
End-to-end encryption and the absence of server copies limit what could ever be exposed. We keep updating VEU to make it as secure as possible.
No system can promise absolute security, and VEU can’t guarantee that photos or personal information you send won’t be leaked, for example by someone you shared them with. Keep your devices updated and protected with a password or screen lock.
Children
VEU isn’t intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data under laws such as the GDPR, Brazil’s LGPD, or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Since VEU doesn’t store your conversations, that content stays under your control on your devices, and you can delete it at any time. For anything else, use the contact details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as VEU evolves. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page, and we’ll make significant changes clear on this website.
