Terms of Service

These terms set out the rules for using VEU. They’re written to be read, so please take a few minutes with them.

In short

  • Your content is yours

You own what you send, and VEU doesn’t store it.

  • Use it respectfully

No illegal content, harassment, or abuse.

  • Bring your own subscriptions

Watch together uses your own streaming accounts.

Accepting these terms

By downloading, installing, or using VEU, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.

The service

VEU is a desktop app for Windows and Linux for private messages, voice and video calls, photo sharing, and watching together in real time. Conversations travel client to client and are end-to-end encrypted. Features may change as the app evolves.

Who can use VEU

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use VEU.

Your content

You own the messages, photos, and other content you share. You’re responsible for it, and for making sure you have the right to share it.

VEU doesn’t store your content on its servers, so it can’t recover messages or media that are deleted, expire, or are lost with a device.

Acceptable use

When using VEU, you agree not to:

  • Break the law, or help anyone else break it
  • Harass, threaten, or exploit other people
  • Share child sexual abuse material or content that incites violence
  • Send spam, malware, or anything designed to harm devices or networks
  • Record or capture other people without their consent where the law requires it
  • Try to disrupt VEU or gain unauthorized access to it or to other people’s devices

Watching together and third-party services

Watch together works with services such as Netflix, Prime Video, Crunchyroll, Disney+, YouTube, and Twitch. You need your own access to those services and must follow their terms, including any limits on sharing.

VEU doesn’t provide, host, or sell their content, and is not affiliated with them.

Privacy features and their limits

Disappearing messages, time-limited photos, and screenshot protection reduce how long and where content can be seen. They can’t stop someone from photographing a screen with another device. Share sensitive content only with people you trust.

Security and leaks

We’re always working to keep VEU updated and as secure as possible.

Even so, VEU can’t guarantee that photos, messages, or other personal information you send will never be leaked. Someone you share content with could pass it on, and a device that is lost or compromised could expose what’s on it. Only send what you’re comfortable sharing with the people in the conversation.

VEU’s intellectual property

The VEU name, logo, app, and website belong to VEU. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. Don’t copy, modify, or redistribute the app except where the law allows it.

Updates and availability

We work to keep VEU reliable, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may update, change, or discontinue features.

Disclaimers and liability

VEU is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, VEU isn’t liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for the loss of content it doesn’t store.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

Ending your use

You can stop using VEU at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms or the law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. If you keep using VEU after a change, you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable federal laws of the United States, without affecting the mandatory protections of the country where you live.
